When Zoey Redbird became the Leader of the Dark Daughters she thought life would get a little easier at the House of Night. However, she now has to face a teacher who’s not only teaching poetry, a boy from her past that is proving hard to forget, and the affections of the fabulous Eric Knight. When human teenagers begin to die around the school and Zoey knows them all, life as a vampire has become that much more difficult. Facing a betrayal of epic proportions Zoey and her friends are forced to become leaders long before they ever thought they would.

I did it again. I started a House of Night novel after 6pm. What I was thinking, I don’t know, but I will tell you that the late night and early morning the next day were oh so worth it. Zoey amazes me. Really and truly. She’s facing things that normal teenagers do, fitting in, and dealing with crushes and ‘womanly’ feelings. However, she’s also dealing with vampire things, bloodlust, fledgling deaths, and Aphrodite being her usual bitchy self. She has her moments, but is always true to Nyx and her dictates. I was thrilled to get to read and review Betrayed and can only hope that I am lucky enough to read the next in the series. I cannot wait to see what is in the future for Zoey and her fantastic group of friends. P.C. and Kristin Cast are an amazing team and I am thrilled to have been able to be part of this series even in such a peripheral manner.
