When Dorcas and Ambrose are banished to Big Knob, Indiana to baby-sit a dragon with ADD, they are sure that they will be there forever. Forever hiding who and what they are; a witch and a wizard sent away for abusing their magic. Then along comes Sean Madigan. The town stud, he’s sick and tired of women grabbing, groping, and sometimes ganging up on him. Desperate for more, he accepts Dorcas and Ambrose’s offer of help and asks to be less. Less studly, less desirable, just all around less than what he has been since puberty. After the offer is accepted, Sean finds out that the first time he actually needs his looks and strange attraction, he no longer has them. He faces the loss of his childhood home to an intrepid Save-A-Lot location scout, Maggie Grady. With their hormones in the way of their goals and dreams, Maggie and Sean try to be adults and end up finding childhood myths and legends in Big Knob, Indiana.

Vicki Lewis Thompson sure delivers with Over Hexed. A mismatched couple, matchmaking magickers, a dragon with ADD, and one big granite, ahem, you know, mountain? Who else could have taken these disparate ideas and melded them into such a fantastical tale. Her deft usage of humor underscored the deep feelings that her characters dealt with. Over Hexed was a light-hearted tale that won’t soon be forgotten.
