Under the Spell is book 5 in Karen Wiesner’s Incognito Series and can be read as a stand alone book.

Justine Fielding, the Network’s Communications and Systems Analyst, has just been given a new mission. She’s to shed her Network identity as Justine and go back home as Gina Calhoun in order to find out who is sending encrypted messages from the ranch.

When she finally returns home, Gina can’t seem to help herself from falling under the seductive spell of Alex, her first love. Even as she suspects him in having something to do with the virtually untraceable communications she was sent to uncover and her father’s death, she cannot stop the attraction that sparks between them.

Alex is stunned when Gina shows up at the ranch seemingly from nowhere after disappearing so many years before. He is angry that she would show up just to take the ranch away from him after he had spent his entire life working hard in the hopes of someday owning it. Alex decides the best way of figuring out Gina’s true intentions is to stick close to her which is easier said than done since he has loved her for so many years.

What else can I say about this series that hasn’t already been said? I have been lucky enough to have read each book in the series as it’s come out and they just keep getting better and better. Under the Spell is no exception. It is full of the action, adventure and mystery that abound in the Incognito series. The sexual tension between “Justine” Gina and Alex keeps you eagerly reading as you wait to see how it will finally turn out. This book has a lot of things going on and secondary characters that add to the mystery but the author never loses focus of the main characters.

Author Karen Wiesner has a huge hit on her hands with Under the Spell and I’m eagerly anticipating book 6, Renegade's Rose!
