Evelyn, the small town librarian of Esmerelda, loves her position in the town, but has the need for adventure. Evelyn travels to Boston each Saturday night to avoid the monotony of her small town life. Evie, as she calls herself, meets Reuben, a musician. While Evie enjoys her weekend escapades she cannot let herself get involved any further than her Saturday night flings.

Reuben wants more and presses Evie for a relationship. Evie isn’t ready and when Reuben makes the trip to the Esmerelda library, Evelyn is as shocked as Reuben. Evelyn is much more closed up than Evie. Reuben demands answers and things become heated up in the library’s backroom at Closing Time.

Reuben is a godsend in disguise opening Evelyn up to possibilities beyond her wildest dreams. Evelyn discovers major differences in her past, but is she ready to accept them?

Closing Time is my new favorite of Adrianna Dane. I love the idea that Evelyn believes that her pristine, upstanding librarian reputation could be ruined if her double life as Evie is found out. Reuben is a refreshing male role model who is loving and caring and he knows how to show it. Closing Time is a wonderful tale of love, letting go, and starting anew.
