Bridge Through the Mist
Alenna Carstairs is on an archaeological dig when she finds a ring embedded in the ground. She places the ring on her finger, and is enclosed in a mist. Suddenly, she finds herself in front of a huge black horse rearing on its hind legs with a man, cloaked in black, riding the powerful horse like a demon. Overcome with shock, she faints. When she wakes up, she finds herself under the scrutiny of Tynan of MacBrahin, a Scottish knight. He is puzzled as to how she appeared in front of his horse and why she is dressed so strangely. The story moves along as Alenna tries to understand why she was thrust into the past, and yet why everything around her seems so familiar. Tynan is attracted to Alenna, but he has no time for women because he is busy guarding the life of Baron MacKendrick. Alenna and Tynan come together time and again, trying to resist the strong pull of attraction between them. In the meantime, the baron has decided that he wants Alenna for his new mistress. Tynan believes the baron is a very evil man and must solve the mystery surrounding the baron's past while trying to keep Alenna out of the baron's grasp. How will Tynan save Alenna from the baron while trying to keep his emotions from overwhelming him where Alenna is concerned? After Alenna finds out why she has been sent into the past, will she find a way to return to her time, or will she stay with Tynan, the man who has captured her heart and soul?
There is one word to describe Bridge Through the Mist…sensational. Denise A. Agnew throws Alenna into the past, and takes us along for the ride. The descriptions of the castle and the surrounding grounds make you feel like you are there, living through the characters' experiences. Tynan was one hot, sexy knight that any living woman would find hard to resist. How Alenna does it for so long is a mystery in itself. The secondary characters are wonderful and pulled the story together. I cheered Tynan on as he sought a way to solve the mystery surrounding the vile baron so as to bring about his downfall. This medieval tale was exciting, intriguing, and steamy. Bridge Through the Mist is one story that can be read again and again, and the reader will feel the pull of the mystery and the feeling of the characters every time. Denise A. Agnew has become one writer who will always be on my bookshelf.
