Scions: Resurrection
Ariel Swanson wrote a book about vampires to help her to overcome her fear of the creatures. She had no idea that the creatures were real and that the prophecy in the book was a true one and that it would put her life in danger. She was on a talk show to discuss the book and as soon as the show was over someone grabbed her and leapt to the top of a building to run from bullets that were being fired at her. She soon learned that the man was a vampire and he believed the prophecy that was in the book, and he was convinced that she was the human that the book talked about and that she was the human that the book said was to mate with the vampire leader to create a peaceful existence for them.
Jachin Black is a man who has been cast out from the vampires ten years ago and was very surprised when he saw that Ariel had written a book about them and that it contained a prophecy that he believed in. Jachin buys a copy of the book and after he reads it he knows that Ariel is the woman that is set to help the vampire clan. There are several of the vampires who do not believe in the prophecy and they are going to be out to kill her. He knows that he has to get her to the clan before they can harm her. Attempting to do this will be one of the most dangerous things that he has ever done but it would be easier if he didn’t know in every way that Ariel should be with him instead of with the leader. Can he turn her over to the leader or is the prophecy talking about someone besides the leader?
Patrice Michelle is the new voice to look for in the vampire world of romance fiction. The story is action packed from the very beginning until the very end of the book and is impossible to put down once you begin to read. It took me a bit to stop wanting to tell the heroine to stop screaming until I realized that I would have screamed if I were in her shoes. From the moment that Jachin swoops down to rescue her, the action is non-stop and the bad vampires will really make you hate the ruthless ones in the vampire clan. It didn’t take me long to fall in love with Jachin even though it took him a while to understand that the prophecy was something different than what he thought that it was. The beginning of this series has me hooked and I will wait on pins and needles until the next book is available. I understand that the next book will be about werewolves so if you’re looking for a paranormal to sink your teeth I highly recommend you picking up this series by newly published New York author Patrice Michelle.
