Johnny and Tess have so much emotional baggage surrounding their past that at times it’s hard to see them ever unpacking it all. Each of them has gotten on with their lives but now that the woman that came between them is gone they can’t help but gravitate towards each other. But not everyone is happy with the idea, especially Johnny’s best friend and partner, Mike. Then there’s the stalker. He has his own agenda and isn’t bothered about what happens to anyone in his way. Putting aside their feelings proves difficult and when they’re forced to spend time together the sparks flying between them are spectacular. Tess and Johnny have so much pushing against them, that at times I wanted to get inside this book and knock some heads together. Amy Mistretta holds the suspense through out the whole book, not to mention the sexual chemistry between Tess and Johnny. Undying Passions keeps you on the edge of your seat with a number of elements, the suspense, the emotion, the sexual tension and the love once again blossoming between these two. They say in a romance the characters must earn their happily ever after, well Ms. Mistretta not only has them earning theirs but I’m sure mine’s in there somewhere as well. Undying Passions has you taking a roller coaster ride of emotions, engaging every one of your heart strings. Even after I’d finished I couldn’t stop thinking about these characters, I felt just as betrayed as Johnny and Tess were and just as excited about what lay ahead of them. It’s not very often that an author takes me by surprise with the end of a story, I’m pretty good at picking up the clues and working out ‘who did it’, but Ms. Mistretta shows great skill in weaving a tale that keeps you guessing to the very end. I couldn’t put Undying Passions down, this book is a keeper. I’ll be keeping my eye out for more of Ms. Mistretta’s books, if Undying Passions is anything to go by they’ll be well worth the money.
