A Bend in Time
Jake Ransom, owner of Ransom Research and Development, and his wife have just been murdered. Before death, he realizes why his life is ending and tries to get his creation to safety before it’s too late. What did Jake do, or what creation could have caused someone to do this to them?
Skye Ransom has just seen her father brutally murdered, found out her mother’s dead too, had a killer show up at her house, and now another lunatic is after her. What the heck is going on? Could it have anything to do with the package that arrived for her and the nifty little gadget inside the envelope? The only thing she can figure is to go back to the source, Ransom Research and Development and try to get some help from her friend there. Once there, she’s informed the gadget is actually a time bender. With it, she can go either go back to the past, or to the future. Only there are still some complications to be worked out with it. However, with the second lunatic, Dane, on her heels wanting the time bender for himself; she is going to have to use it to escape his clutches.
Suddenly she finds herself in Scotland. It’s a scene straight out of Braveheart. William Wallace and Robert the Bruce are both there. The Scottish are fighting the English. What in the worlds is going on? And these people think she’s Alanna Douglas, the woman that’s supposed to marry The Bruce. How is she going to get out of this mess when she can’t even find the time bender? And will it even work? What about Dane? He zapped to Scotland with her, is he still planning to kill her? Will she ever get to go back to her old life?
Holy time travel Batman! What an amazing, griping story. I couldn’t put the book down; it was driving me crazy wanting to know what was going to happen next! Michelle Miles is an engaging author with a very vivid imagination. Honestly, this is extremely different from my usual genre of reading, but I’m immensely grateful that I chose this book. I am even more thankful to Michelle Miles for creating such an amazing book and such wonderful characters. I loved William Wallace. He and Alanna were so funny together. I of course hated Dane. I cannot wait to read more books from Michelle Miles in the near future. She is truly an amazingly gifted writer.
