Chloe is one of the three Fate Sisters residing on Mount Olympus controlling mortal’s destinies. Only now, Chloe is finding herself bored out of her mind. For heaven’s sakes, how many times can a girl paint her nails in never-ending millennia? Therefore, Chloe decides to take a vacation on Earth and have some fun for a change.

Arriving on Earth, she goes to a bed and breakfast and meets Tanner. Tanner is a man full of pain whose mother just died and left the decrepit bed and breakfast on his shoulders. Tanner is not too happy to have Chloe staying with him right now. Even if she is the most amazingly beautiful woman he has ever seen, and the one person that gets completely under his skin, pushing him to start feeling again. Will he be able to get over the hurt and pain of finding his murdered mother? How will Tanner respond when he finds out that Chloe is not actually Chloe at all but actually Clothos, the ancient Fate? Will he be able to forgive her for ultimately being responsible for the death of his mother? In addition, will her father, Zeus be able to help her be with the only man since the dawn of time that she truly loves? And just what can happen when you tempt fate?

What a truly enjoyable read. I had goose bumps through this whole story. This was a truly beautiful, romantic, poignant, passionate story. I just cannot say enough good things about Tempting Fate or its author Emma Sinclair. I laughed, I cried, I cheered for Chloe and Tanner, and I wanted to smack Tanner a few times. I have not enjoyed myself so much while reading a book in a very long time. Thank you so much Emma Sinclair for giving me back my faith in the magical powers of books!
