The Stranger In Her Bed

Ethan Knight cannot believe it! Fired! On his first day! Granted, he nearly got himself and the foreman killed, but still…It won’t be long until he is back at the mill, though, since his family is buying it and he will be overseeing the operation. How he and the foreman, Anna Segee, will rub along then is anyone’s guess. It won’t only be management conflicts that see them butting heads, though. Oh no, the attraction between them is sure to cause more friction than anything else ever could. The question is what is Ethan going to do about it? And why does Anna seem so familiar?

Anna Segee is trying to make her own way in a male dominated industry. What’s more, she is succeeding – and not because of her family’s own operations in her chosen field. Independence is extremely important to Anna but her loving and overprotective family (a father plus four domineering but caring brothers) would sooner see her as a stay at home mom. Moving away was her only option, though returning to the place where she spent the first eleven years of her life after inheriting a run down mill was entirely her own choice. Nothing is going to be easy, not repairing her inheritance, dealing with the simmering attraction between herself and Ethan, or protecting herself and her property from whoever threatens both. Furthermore, she has secrets which could affect her relationship with Ethan and the whole town. How will she handle everything?

The Stranger In Her Bed is the second in the fairly new Logger series by Janet Chapman, featuring the Knight family. I am ecstatic to have snapped this book up, and am intent on collecting the first in the series, The Seduction Of His Wife, as soon as I can. You can bet your bottom dollar that I will also be keeping an eagle eye out for more information on any further books to follow in this series, too. Why? Because I have enjoyed this book so much that I cannot do anything but. I positively adore close families and the Knight family is simply superb. Also, the occupation of the family: logging. For sure, this is rare and not something I believe I have ever come across in my romance novels. As such, it made for an enjoyable, refreshing and educating read. All the characters are excellently developed. There are secrets and intrigue laced throughout the plot, adding many depths to the tale. There are also painful memories as well as sizzling attraction and great friendship and respect. There is sex, which is marvelously detailed and very sensual. The plot flows smoothly and is very easy too follow. You’ll not find yourself confused by anything, including the logging technicalities. The Stranger In Her Bed is a read bound for your keeper shelf and one I highly recommend!
