Prophecy: Child of Light
There is a rumor that a vampire will be a destroyer but a savior bringing peace between two families. This person, a half vampire that carries magic stronger than any non-human can have in their blood, can end brutality. That person is the Child of Light, one that has been hidden for so long until one vampire Valentine witnesses the child of light’s first taking of human blood. Valentine is from another ruling family but cannot leave Prophecy alone knowing that someone dangerous out there will not stop at anything to make sure that she is dead once and for all. He doesn’t know why Prophecy has enthralled him but something in her blood tells him they were destined to meet. There is a war about to happen and Prophecy is the only one with the vision of what will happen but can she make Valentine a believer.
Prophecy has never been outside her family’s mansion and now she regrets going out to hunt for her first human blood. One man has captured her attention but any love is forbidden for they come from different families. There once was peace between their families but Prophecy only knows one thing: her family has lied to her. Her life has all been a lie, now she must decide whether to be their destroyer or save her people. There are powers in her that Prophecy has not known before but through all this there is Valentine. He tells her that she is gifted but all Prophecy wants is to be a normal vampire out to hunt not to save her species. One other thing she must come to terms with is the sexual attractions she feels towards Valentine.
F.E. Heaton is one person that can kick butt when it comes to magic and the paranormal. Valentine has never seen the likes of Prophecy before but something in her blood speaks to him in a way that even his sire has never done before. This is the first in a series that this reviewer is going to keep an eye out for. There is a war that is starting and only Prophecy can defeat another dangerous vampire. I loved Valentine’s part in this book and though there was no ending but a continuation of what is to come readers will be enchanted with F.E. Heaton’s imagination and her way of pulling you into this world and different places so easily you will not want to put it down. Don’t let the page count (525 pgs) scare you for once you start reading you’re not even going to remember the pages it pulls you in wanting to know what Prophecy and Valentine are going to do. Awesome job F.E. Heaton and I can’t wait for the second in the series.
