Unraveled
Alison Timberlane, Marketing Director for an appliance chain, had to leave her hometown and change her name. She is no longer known as Jessica Hallberg to her new friends. Due to some tragic events, that woman is long gone. She feels she is finally free and safe from any harm until a new employee enters her mist, and she wonders can she even trust him. However, Bill is someone that just might be her salvation. Bill Anderson has become the gopher for Alison when he accepts employment with her company. Fresh out of the Army, he has his own secrets and demons that trouble him. He thought his evil spirits were bad until he meets Alison and learns she has her own ghosts that are very troubling. Bill knows she is scared to death about something. She may insist it is someone’s memory that triggers her fear but he knows it stems from her being frightened. He will have to dig deep, because she is good at keeping a barrier on her feelings. Serving in the Gulf War he had endured many loud explosions and lost several friends, and he can practically smell her fear. He assures her that she has nothing to fear. His heartstrings begin to develop love for her, and he will do anything to keep her completely safe. When things begin to turn explosive, they only have each other to confide in and trust. As her past slowly comes seeping out, danger gradually darkens their door, as Alison’s love for Bill comes close to her heart, in a way she has never felt for any man.
Unraveled is a book filled with twists and turns that make this great story a page-turner. Loaded in intense action and suspense, this caper is edge of the seat drama. Alison and Bill are refreshing characters that make the story hotter than any CSI episode. I enjoyed how Bill and Alison seemed to cozy up to one another during their adventure, and the way Bill was in tune with Allison’s emotions was incredible. He had dealt with much during the war, making his character believable. Ms. Johnson crafts a great read that is awesome. She cast some secondary characters that are lovable as well as those the reader would love to detest. She cleverly constructs an ending that was certainly not foreseen to this reader. This highly recommended read is one that should not be missed.
