Thea’s Goal

Thea Cooper has just made a huge move; she’s left her old, comfortable job, her home and the security of her relationship with her Master. She’s a submissive, and while happy in her new, higher-up-the-ladder position at her new place of employment, she misses the thrill of serving, of submitting to someone who holds all the control.

When a mis-delivery routed to her containing a strange relic, a golem, lands on her desk, she encounters Dr. Nick Jones, a man for whom she feels an attraction that she can’t deny. To make matters worse, something strange is happening in her apartment, something that she can’t explain…and it scares her beyond anything she’s ever imagined. Is she losing her mind?

Bonnie Hamre pens a tale that explicitly details the BDSM lifestyle, down to the way a submissive needs her Master. Thea is mixed up in something otherworldly and bizarre that she can’t control, not that control is her strong point anyway. Nick is a deliciously drawn character; he’s earnest, sexy and willing to experiment with some of the wilder facets of Thea’s preferences. I’ll not spoil the plot for you, but suffice it to say that this one dips a toe into the paranormal side of things. While the BDSM scene isn’t my cup of tea, this was a well executed and orchestrated novella with enough storyline to make it stand out beyond the D/s theme that is prevalent throughout. Four Angels.
