Max is a private detective that’s been drinking himself into oblivion and out of a business due to the fact that he found his wife cheating with other men. He is furious, hateful, and considering suicide.

That is, until Cassandra Evans walks into his office. Wow! Max is convinced that there is something supernatural about this woman and his reaction to her. Cassandra has searched him out to spy on her husband who has taken her money and is spending it on other women. The two of them cannot seem to keep their feelings for each other at bay.

However, Cassandra might not be what she seems. She tends to just appear out of nowhere and then suddenly she is just gone. Is she a ghost? Or something more sinister? And where is this mysterious husband that she’s sure is scamming her? Will Max get the answers before time runs out for both of them?

No Ordinary Affair is a must read for paranormal suspense fans everywhere. Ellen Ashe is a wonderful author who is able to combine a lot of great elements and genres to create a beautiful yet chilling tale. I was hooked from the very first chapter and was disappointed when it ended. This wasn’t really my type of genre before now, but I’ll definitely be checking out more in the future. I loved the contact between Max and Cassandra. Both fallen souls needing each other to live life again. And I’m a sucker for a man that’s willing to do whatever it takes for the woman he’s fallen in love with.
