Lovers from an ancient, almost forgotten past find themselves reincarnated in the opposite sexes far in a contemporary future (present day). Unaware of each others presence, they each must make their own personal spiritual journey. They are not alone in this lonely walk however as they are all watched by a channeler called Light who will act as their guard when times become dark.

This is Michelle Miller Allen’s first full-length novel and it is indeed a masterpiece of penmanship. Throughout the book she switches between the past and the present, each time allowing you to better understand the impulses and reasoning behind each character. The trips to the past are always a new chapter and are indicated by a shaded in jaguar so it is always easy to distinguish between the past and the present. All the characters within this book have been well thought out and are beautifully presented with even their flaws on show for all to see; this enables the readers to feel closer to each one and to be delighted with how people’s lives are weaved together through a mix of accidents and coincidences.

Journey From the Keep of Bones is not just a book; it is also, as the reader will find, a spiritual journery for those who choose to read it. As they read this book readers will find themselves swept along a river of time and love and all who immerse themselves in the story will feel changed in some small way at the end. The book itself is hard to describe and pin down; needless to say it is one that is definitely recommended.
