Amy Conrad is tired of fighting for her life. She has an illness that is killing her, and rather than spend her last few days in a hospital she opts to go on a cruise. Going off by herself on a rented boat, she drifts away in the ocean only to land on a deserted island. When she awakes on the island, she finds herself with a man named Simon, who is claiming she is someone else. There are many mysteries surrounding her in this strange place. First, her illness seems to have subsided. Then she can’t believe the reaction her body is having to this stranger. Last but not least, she seems to be having memories that are not hers. What is really going on on this magical island?

Lacey Savage has brought together a magical story with paranormal elements. Readers can’t help but sympathize with Amy and her life threatening illness. Simon is truly a torn soul. He has been waiting lifetimes for his true love to make it back to him and give him a second chance. One cannot hope but wish Amy is the one he has been waiting on. The attraction between these two characters is very hot and believable. Once Upon a Conquest is a delightful story that will pull at your heartstrings. It is about past mistakes and making up for them, even if it takes lifetimes. Readers will leave this book wanting a magical island and a man all their own.
