Between the Sheets

Courtney Clayton is determined not to be the child singer and little sitcom girl people know her as. She wants her audience to recognize her as a woman, and able to sing any love song. The problem is there’s one man who thinks she hasn’t grown even though she’s 22 and has known love. One word from Dylan McLean and it ruins her debut day of being a woman so to speak. You see for Courtney singing love songs as a woman is her way of proving that she is all woman and not the little girl that she used to be before she went to Harvard. Now that she wants this comeback, Dylan is putting the stops in her career. There is only one thing to do in her opinion: prove to him that she’s all woman by any means. Can she prove it to him without losing her heart and ruining her image?

Dylan McLean is in trouble and not from the law. He’s in trouble because he just insulted childhood singer/TV star Courtney Clayton. Dylan knows she’s talented but America will not believe that she can sing romantic songs when he knows that she still sounds like a child even though he sees all woman in her. The proposition that she makes him is the tip of the iceberg for he’s so attracted to her he’s not sure this is helping her. Once they get in the sheets though can Dylan keep his heart from interfering making him realize that life without Courtney Clayton might not be a good life?

Dylan and Courtney are just hot towards one another making me wonder how Mardi Ballou got through writing this book. I mean there is definitely more than attraction between these two. I can feel for Courtney whose main goal is proving to people who turned their back on her that she has grown up. In a way it’s hard when you grew up all your life as a child star. Now Dylan, here’s a guy that can spark any woman’s heart. He’s endured pain and heartache in his life but like Courtney, he is determined to be something other than just an ex stuntman whose career is over even though he’s in his mid twenties. These two throughout the book are just hot and Mardi Ballou did a nice job throughout the book never faltering from Courtney’s main goal but still bringing two lovers together. It was just awesome in the way she did it . Readers will love this story, and yes will want more from Mardi Ballou. Great job!
