More Than She Wished For

Juniper Montgomery is told by the calligraphy tent shopkeeper that the small book is perfect for someone like herself. Juniper doesn’t wish to buy the book; she is looking for an anniversary gift for her parents. For some reason the book continues to stay in her hands, and the shopkeeper tells Juniper that it is fated to be hers, but she must be very careful with its use. Now her parents need help. Cousin Mark has broken both legs and they need someone to help run the camp before the campers arrive. If she could find a tall Elf, they would be all set. She will have to pull strings to find the right one, perhaps someone handsome like in the movie, Lord of the Rings. She wishes for a strong Elf, not only for her pleasure, but to help with the children. Costac doesn’t know how she was able to reach into his realm and pull him into hers, but by using magic, he stands in the presence of Juniper. There is no way Juniper can send him back, that was a condition of the wish where she is clueless. This is one wish she should have been more careful in wishing. Costac isn’t happy that she has interfered with his life and the young child that has come with him. They aren’t prepared to live without the realm of their own home but there is something within Juniper that fascinates him. Survival is of the utmost importance as Juniper and Costac both discover while learning about each other.

More Than She Wished For carries the reader into a delightful fantasy with characters that grab at the heart. Filled with a touch of paranormal, it has some interesting witty moments that bring smiles and cheers to this reader. Juniper has a heart of gold, wishing to extend a helping hand to others. Costac finds her very lovely, not only in appearance but also in her kindheartedness to everyone around. He is a powerful warrior who only sees himself as nothing out of the ordinary. I could not help but really care for him and his sensitivity, and liked how Juniper tried raising his self-esteem. Ms. Hanawa blends a vibrant cast of characters that make this one magical read. With a seasoning of dragons, elves, and brownies, she keeps the reader entertained throughout the tale. She creates a fun-filled romance that is a true delight and leaves a happy sigh when it is over.
