Moon Shadow

Esmenet Sokaris is a Gold level Love wizard searching desperately for a way to help the victims of a ruthless rapist. Using the archaic Rurutu glyph she sends out a flier to try and find her perfect biological match in order to craft a potion to help these poor women. When Gage Feldspar is literally slapped in the face with the flier he thinks that it could possibly be a way to redeem himself in the eyes of his wife. Gage is a Brown level wizard who is infamous for a debacle involving a pig and a Guild Wizard. These two mismatched wizards have the ability together to save these women and possibly find their rapist, but can they get past the physiological urges that two so perfectly matched people will have?

With the skillful weaving of biochemistry and magic Lucinda Betts crafts a story that is unlike any other I have ever read. Esmenet is a powerful woman willing to risk everything in order to ease the pain of the poor women being raped. While Esmenet was a great character, I fell in love with Gage. He was such an intricate character, with fighting his alcoholism he was the perfect wounded hero willing to do anything to fix the mess that he’s made of his life. Watching him grow as a wizard and a man was just fascinating. I can only hope that there will be more stories set in the universe that Ms. Betts has created in Moon Shadow.
