La Mirage

Journalist Savanna Blaine knows hot, and it not because she’s stuck on I-95 in a car with no air on her way to an assignment. She works with photographer Ben Lantano and he’s enough to keep her temperature spiked regardless of the season. They’ve never crossed the professional line, but as they trek through the searing desert in search of gas, she has to admit she is tempted. When they arrive at the La Mirage resort instead of a gas station, will they give in to the attraction between them?

Jennifer Colgan delivers a solid romance with two characters readers can’t help but like. Her portrayal offers two realistically crafted individuals with plenty of humor and heat to burn. The writing style is smooth and makes the most of this short story. The transitions are natural with the dialogue bringing both wit and caring to the forefront. Once Savanna and Ben arrive at the resort, be prepared for sensual fun as these two make the most of their exotic, romantic locale. While the plot draws on some expected elements, Ms. Colgan still makes the ending and romance all her own. For a fun read, with a slight twist, give La Mirage a try.
