The Strength of the Wolf

Jorrie Spencer has again provided a superb story in The Strength of the Wolf, book two in her Strength series. Veronica is a werewolf who has stayed in wolf form for quite a while. She feels the need to return to her humanity, but is not quite sure how to go about it. Time has passed and normal human actions, conversing, dining with others seem very foreign. Veronica is caught in a trap in wolf form, she believes she would be able to get out of it if she could shift, but the pain is so distracting she is unable to focus. “Goldie” the wolf is found by David Hardway; he rescues her from the trap and takes her to his sister the vet. Veronica is grateful David rescued her, she feels safe with him and she hasn’t felt safe in a very long time. David is a college professor and also an introvert, but he is a good man who tries to do the right thing for his family and friends.

I am very pleased with book two The Strength of the Wolf, this story can be read as a stand – alone with ease. Jorrie Spencer has written Veronica’s story with care. You empathize with her characters’ emotional turmoil, Veronica’s amnesia and difficulty returning to humanity and David’s attempts to protect his nephew and now Veronica. I totally enjoyed The Strength of the Pack and I can doubly recommend The Strength of the Wolf, I am very excited about Jorrie Spencer’s new series.
