Slip & Fall
Robert Principe knew that with his new law degree, he was the golden boy for his working class family. He wouldn’t be out in the snow on those construction sites like his father and grandfather before him. No he’d be in the courtrooms and his own office, part of the white collar world they dreamed about. When he found out his wife Janine was pregnant, his sister was in trouble, and his business wasn’t doing well either, Robert made a decision to get help from his cousin Jackie as a one time thing. Only Robert found out that once you do one thing for the mob, it isn’t over and the decision he made just might get him or his family killed if he can’t find a way out.
Mr. Santora has written a compelling, fast paced and gripping story about a man who finds out that one decision can lead down that slippery slope that our conscience and society warns us about. The main and secondary characters are so real that the reader feels they are in the story instead of reading it. You feel their emotions and your stomach tightens when there are suspenseful moments, and you want to scream at Robert when he makes that mistake that you just know will lead to trouble. I highly recommend Slip & Fall to anyone who loves books by such authors as John Grisham, Stuart Woods, or John Sandford. You won’t be disappointed.
