A Hint of Summer
Inheritance
Chase Taylor feels her family can never be content, always bickering over something. The latest is the will of her grandmother, Nancy. Her brother, Chris, loves authority. When they learn that Chase has been left Nancy’s house, the family is furious. Reece Weston is the executor of Nancy’s estate, and summons Chase to the reading of the will. Chase loved her grandmother and wishes nothing from her but all the others see dollar signs. When they learn that Chase is to live in the West Vancouver home for six months, and share with Reece, everyone is shocked, including Chase and Reece. It was toward the end that Reece had come to know Nancy, and she left specific instructions concerning her home. Chase knows her selfish family never bothered to really take care of her grandmother. Her mother could careless about the will, she intends on stopping the nonsense. While Chase and Reece make a go at the house, Chase would like for their friendship to become a closer one. Reece hates being in the middle of the family will issue, but when mom puts in her two-cent worth, Chase and Reece must make a stand.
I absolutely loved this story. Chase and Reece are two likeable people who really have no one, and out of nowhere, they find each other in a sweet way, thanks to a kind-hearted grandmother. Ms. Braden spins a tale in Inheritance, involving family members that are really true to life. I wish I could have jumped inside the book and strangled Chase’s mother and brother. It is truly sad that some people indeed are this greedy. She pens a great love story that I won’t forget.
Summer’s Return
As a real estate agent, Arianna Morgan is meeting with the heir to the Radcliffe Financial Empire. Then again it isn’t the first time she has met Parker Radcliffe. They had been friends as kids. Parker has plenty on his mind since his father’s heart attack then death. The company has been around since the Depression and now it resides in Parker’s hands. Now he has to take care of selling the beach house that holds many memories. Anymore, he had no time for any social relaxations. Thoughts of Arianna enter his mind, as he recalls times spent with her. He never imagined running into her, let alone her be the real estate agent. She is just as beautiful as he remembers. He is older, more mature, but Arianna stills see that charming personality. Once he left for college, the letters of their correspondence suddenly stopped, and the connection was lost. Parker needs a recollection of the good life and a vacation. With emotions running deep for Arianna and Parker, they can only hope to recapture what the heart never forgot.
Summer’s Return is a fantastic read. The reader gets to know Arianna and Parker as if family. Their in-depth emotions make this story so great. The way they both are caught up with present matters reached out and touched my heart as they tried to get to know the other all over again. Ms. Green pens a wonderful tale that brings a smile to the face. She captures the true essence of love in this captivating story.
A Hint of Summer is a story by two talented authors that reach to the inner core of the heart and soul of matters. In so many ways I felt connected to the characters. They almost leap from the pages. The seasoning of family issues and recollections of memories is wonderfully told in these two brilliant tales. Thanks to Ms. Braden, and Ms. Green, for giving readers an absolute treasure not soon forgotten by this reader.
