Hard to Resist

Nicole Arroyo is the bakery/owner/cake designer of Sweet Treats. She is making plans for a potential client to arrive with her fiancé to sample cake flavors. She can hardly wait for the potential couple to admire her handiwork, and taste the finishing project. Then a handsome man enters and she suspects it is the fiancé early to begin the tasting. He says his name is Ryan Goodman. She was certain Tia’s fiancé was either Blaine or Cooper. It makes no difference, she allows him to begin sampling. Not only is Ryan devilishly handsome, but she feels a sudden attraction to him. Ryan is there to choose a birthday cake for his secretary. Nicole, so certain this is the fiancé, happily shows Ryan her portfolio with her various designs. She wishes Tia would arrive because Ryan is igniting her beyond words, and Nicole needs to control her urges. This is strictly business. Ryan thinks Nicole is hot, really hot. He tries to sample a kiss and she assures she doesn’t go after another woman’s man. He admits he is not getting married. He thought that was how she treated all her guests with the samples. In one instant, the tension breaks and Nicole wonders how he would taste covered in frosting. When Ryan decides where he would like to lather her with icing, the spreading takes on one scrumptious ride.

Hard to Resist is a sinfully delicious read. Nicole and Ryan are dynamite individuals. The moment their eyes meet, the attraction begins. The chemistry begins slow and works up into a yummy course with frosting that will not soon be forgotten by this reader. I love the part about the mistaken identity with Ryan. He sounds really delectable. Karen Erickson spins a mouthwatering read that truly is inviting. I felt as if I had stepped inside the bakery and could smell the aroma of the fresh baked cakes. The romance is hot, at times, so hot, one wonders if the icing will melt off the cakes. This appetizing read allows the reader to see a whole new light on spreading of icing, while being succulently creative with cake samples, especially when it comes to chocolate.
