A Night of NovelTea

Juliet Truesdale works in the family store, NovelTea Books. It is a tea shop and book store, but she yearns for something more exciting to fill her days and nights. As if on cue, a handsome stranger, a mysterious summons, one matchbook with a message and a dive in a dumpster give the twenty-nine-year-old woman all sorts of new adventure! The mystery man pulls her along on a suspenseful ride that includes being tossed in with the garbage as well as being kissed with passion.

This is a very sweet mystery, one that was fairly predictable but fun nonetheless. Although the idea of a handsome mystery man suddenly appearing and pulling the bored woman into a suspenseful jaunt is one that many of us yearn for, it’s seldom done with such fun and classic appeal! Juliet is the epitome of a bored bookseller. She knows her Jane Austin as well as most people know their zip codes and she’s not above politely correcting someone who confuses characters in any of Miss Austin’s novels. Her feisty intelligence, along with the way she was willingly pulled into the mystery, make her a charming character. I liked her, and I wanted her to find magic and mystery. And perhaps a bit of romance, too. So since A Night of NovelTea delivers on all of these counts, I found it to be very satisfying.
