Only Man for the Job
When Laney Peters calls a contractor for an estimate, an old flame shows up. Keith Jansen is a drop-dead gorgeous man, someone who Laney has a history with. She insists she merely wants a bathroom remodeled but the chemistry between them is instant—and sizzling. Laney at first attempts to dismiss this hunky man, but he pleads for a chance to give her an estimate for the job so she leads him to her master bathroom. It is an unlikely setting for romance, but that’s where the bulk of this story takes place and it works. Very well.
Liza James has written a scorching tale in Only Man For The Job. From the first few words, I was caught up in the story. I wanted to know what happened to this couple. I could feel the raw emotions of the characters and wondered what had brought them to this point. That, I think, is the only thing lacking in this story—a little more backstory. I understood the characters’ in their current situation, but I would have liked to see a bit more of their motivation. Why did they act the way they did? Regardless, this wanting to know more on my part didn’t detract at all from this story. It is hot and sexy and is a very enjoyable tale. Kudos to Liza James!
