A Sword in the Sky – Tarot: The Knight of Swords

Aurora, a professor by trade, is a traveler, headed from Denver home to California. She is playing around with her laptop computer and does a Tarot reading for herself; she is surprised to see the deck’s answers to her ongoing questions about the state of her love life. When her flight is called and she boards the plane, she encounters Clay, her seatmate.

Clay is a journalist, headed to California for a job interview. He is playful and risqué, and is extremely interested in everything about Aurora. Clay is very comfortable in his own skin and with his sexuality, which oddly enough, is intoxicating to Aurora. What are two perfect near-strangers to do when faced with the opportunity of a lifetime?

A Sword in the Sky is a very erotic and explicit story about two strangers who meet on a plane and proceed to share very intimate and sexy talk during their flight. The characters were surprisingly well-crafted for the length of the book, and, although a tad farfetched, I liked several components of the story, including the anonymity of it all and the thrill of divulging such intimate secrets to someone relatively unknown. There’s lots of dialogue in this book and no actual sex, but the pacing is good and the story flows well. There is potential for even more tales of these characters, and I look forward to Ms. Conejo’s next offering with pleasure. Four Angels!
