Nick’s Lady
Embarrassing doesn’t even begin to cover how Andrea feels when the stalker she picked up after visiting one of the local BDSM clubs catches her off guard at work. Luckily her co-workers and boss, Nick Tysinger, are very understanding. Her boss’ understanding takes on a more intimate level when, after finding out how she came to know her assailant, he invites her back to the same club where the sordid mess began. Of the same ilk, Nick knows Andi needs to see that the lifestyle she’s interested in isn’t all made up of crazies. Getting involved with your boss can come with its own set of issues but Andi is willing to take a chance on the man she’s secretly desired. As Nick and Andi come to terms with their sexual fireworks, they both may find that there is more to their clandestine relationship than either could have imagined.
Just when I think there is no such thing as an okay book in the BDSM genre, a new story comes along and slaps me with reality. Nick’s Lady had the elements I tend to enjoy, a bit of kink, a domineering male with protective instincts, and of course interesting sexual escapades that provide plenty of stimulation. So I was little disappointed that as I continued to read about the ever growing relationship between Nick and Andi, I found myself having to refocus on the actual story. Most of the time when someone wasn’t in the process of getting disciplined the story seemed to drag. I found it hard to remember why these two were together when not being intimate. Katherine Kingston has talent; I just think with a little bit of tweaking to her style of writing, her stories will maintain their fizzle throughout.
