What a Rogue Desires

Lord David Reece is entrusted with caring for his brother, the Duke of Exeter’s business affairs while he goes on his honeymoon. It is an immense responsibility for him and he will try to do his best especially as he tries to change his poor reputation. All goes well until his coach is accosted by a highwayman and relieved of the signet ring entrusted to him by the Duke. Vivian Beecham and her brother, Simon, have had a difficult life. They have taken up thievery to survive. She assumes the role of a lady on the same coach and sparks David’s interest. Vivian is caught trying to sell the stolen goods as David tracks her down and she becomes his prisoner.

David appears in an earlier book, What a Gentleman Wants, by Ms. Linden. He wasn’t much of a hero in that one and thus, his need to redeem himself. David is “bad boy” that women are attracted to. He meets his match in Vivian. She is a very strong and tough woman. She had to be for her survival. David makes inroads into Vivian’s armor with food and the comforts of a home. Vivian makes the best of her situation as a prisoner and finds herself attracted to him. The author makes us believe that these two could fall in love especially with such an unusual meeting. David and Vivian’s relationship slowly evolves as each realizes what they have found. They are a delightful couple as they take in the new emotions they are feeling.

What a Gentleman Wants is a lovely romance that will satisfy all those readers wanting David’s story. Ms. Linden has given us a man who has redeemed himself and thus, making him a hero we can admire. The story is complex as we have Vivian and Simon’s acquaintances to deal with. What a Gentleman Wants takes the reader on a rollicking ride filled with love.
