Witch Lore

Isabell Dionysus is part witch, part fairy. A contract was made long ago between Isabell’s great-grandmother and the fairies for the women of her line. These women all have to find the loves of their lives, that the fairies approve of, before their 30th birthday, or else surrender their humanity to the fey. From the time of her great-grandmother until now, all the women surrendered their humanity and entered the fey.

So, Isabell needs to find a man. She needs to find someone who is not only sympathetic and open to her magic, but he has to be approved by the fairies to be her mate. And could he hurry? Because her 30th birthday is coming up.

David Pennyfield comes looking for Isabell, The Witch of Seven Isles, to help him get rid of the magic that has somehow crept back into his life after a long rest. He used to have magic in his life as his mother was a witch, but he’s since repressed his abilities, because he doesn’t want to go crazy and wind up institutionalized as she did. The only thing is, once he’s met Isabell, he’s not sure he wants to get rid of his magic, or her, after all.

Witch Lore is a fun, steamingly sexy romp of a read! I was delighted by Isabell. She’s funny, witty, independent, and primed for love. I’ve read stories about fairies in the past, but the antics of the fairies in this story are hysterical. I laughed all the way through the story until my sides hurt. And the sex? Ladies, bring your ice cubes and lower the A/C. You’re going to need whatever you can to cool off your inner temp after reading the sex scenes. I eagerly await Alison Paige’s next story. I hope it’s just as entertaining as this one.
