Cowboy’s Wish

Cody Armstrong’s mother told him to make a wish when he blew out his birthday candles. Since he believes thirty-two is too old to be making wishes, he decides not to make a wish; however, he can’t help but wish his ex-girlfriend Melanie Rourke is there to share the moment with him. He knew that she was back in the Dallas area, but he is totally flabbergasted when he runs into Melanie the very next day. When he finds her with a broken down truck, his first thought is that maybe this will be the chance for him to apologize for messing up and breaking up with her two years ago.

Melanie knows that if it weren’t for bad luck she would have no luck at all. She thinks this as she stands over her truck that refuses to run. She thinks things will be okay when she realizes someone is coming to help; until she hears his voice. Standing before her is the man who walked away from her after they dated for two and a half years. He wanted to earn enough money to get his own ranch and he decided to let her go. She never really stopped loving him but now that he’s back in her life can she forgive him and see where they can go with the relationship now?

There’s a lot of pain and sorrow that must be worked through by Cody and Melanie, can they manage to do this in order to make this relationship work?

This was a very endearing book. There were so many “little things” that didn’t make sense to either character but they really helped the story. The fact that Cody runs into her, the fact that her truck was working perfectly, this story was full of wonderful coincidences that I loved. There are a lot of things that these two need to work out between them in order to make the relationship work but I had faith that these two could pull it off. This was a great read and I think that you’ll enjoy the quickness of the story and the fact that they need to work through their past.
