Ascension

Things go from bad to worse when after being attacked by a dog in the alley of a club she was leaving, Kari finds herself drugged, kidnapped and being kept prisoner at the home of a man who is as fine as he is psychotic. When said deliciously gorgeous man proceeds to tell her that not only is he a werewolf king but that she will also soon become his furry queen Kari knows her life will never be the same. Andreas will have to convince Kari of her new station in life because her change will happen soon and then the real fireworks of pack life will begin, and she needs to be in top form if she plans on making it past the next full moon.

Human family drama has nothing on the state of werewolves vying for position and their next free for all partner. In Ascension, the Cherchez clan is the most powerful pack in America and in need of a mate for their alpha. The chosen mate just happens to be an ex-human with more attitude than a hormone-ridden teenager. Lauren Dane brings adventure, fun and rip roaring antics to this family full of raging males and the few females who’re able to bare them. Just like any large family with more secrets than they’re able to control in a locked closet, Kari and her alpha mate Andreas find themselves fighting to stay together as life comes at them fast, furious and deadly. Adding suspense in with a smorgasbord of sensual treats I, as a reader, found this to be a really fast flowing read that had me awestruck until the very end. Something that really made this story stand out was how easily the supporting characters became as necessary as breathing to the ability for this tale to remain impressive. I really hope this is only the beginning and that I can continue to grow along with this offspring producing clan of wolves who wouldn’t know boredom if it kicked them in the face.
