Into the Dark

Amy Walker’s life has been anything but easy and she knows her life will never be normal until she discovers the secrets in her past.

After being kidnapped by terrorists and suffering the unspeakable torture they enjoyed doling out, Amy was rescued by Dallas Garrett but ran from him as soon as he got her safely back into the states and has been running ever since. Now, as she tries to discover the reason why her mother was locked away in a mental institution, Amy realizes that she is being followed and that the friend who has been helping her dig into her past is missing, she knows that the only person she can turn to is Dallas.

Dallas needs a break from his brothers and the work at E.D.E.N., so he can get his troubled past under control and hopefully stop the flashbacks that plague him. As he’s planning his time away, he is surprised when Amy shows up on his doorstep saying that she can’t let them find her and promptly passes out. Dallas knows that Amy is in trouble and wants to help her but that is a lot easier said than done.

Into the Dark is the sixth book in The Bodyguards series and a fantastic story! I had just started the third chapter when I knew I had to have the first five in this series, but it was very hard to put the book down long enough to order them! The characters that Cindy Gerard has created are brave, smart, strong and loyal. Everything you could possibly want in a hero and heroine. If you like your heroine to stand aside and let the hero take over, then you will be disappointed because Amy can kick butt with the best of them. It was really refreshing to see a hero like Dallas, that was secure enough with himself to stand aside and let the woman take the lead without being patronizing or appearing weak and I loved the fact that Amy wasn’t hesitant to do so.

If you haven’t yet read any of The Bodyguards then you have totally been missing out and will defiantly want to remedy that soon. Or those of you that already know how hot this series is, can I just ask why no one told me sooner? I really can’t wait to read more about Gabe, Jenna and Sam who all played a role in this book and I’m ready to see what else I have missed with this series.
