The Collector 6: Love Cure
Love Cure by Kai Andersen is the sixth book in The Collector series.
Marianne will do anything she has to in order to save her brother, Lex's, life from the debilitating disease that is slowly killing him. To this end, she received a strange request to contact a man called the Collector who may have a way to cure her brother. Marianne decides to give it a chance and when she meets with the Collector, he asks her to locate an ancient statue that has purported healing properties. Marianne is all set to go until the Collector tells her that he is sending someone to assist her and it is none other than her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas, who left her seven years ago without a by-your-leave and no forwarding numbers. To say the least, she is still very angry with Nicholas, but they are forced by the situation to band together to find the prize. Nicholas had his reasons for disappearing seven years ago that were directly related to something that happened to him, which Marianne has no knowledge of. What is Nicholas’s secret and why is he the best person to protect and assist Marianne in attaining her goal, an artifact that can save her brothers life?
Ms. Andersen has created a fascinating addition to the wonderful Collector’s series. Marianne is a very strong woman who knows what she wants and isn’t afraid of hard work to achieve her goals, protecting her family. Nicholas is your misunderstood knight in shining armor who does what he needs to to protect his family, even to his personal detriment. I loved watching Marianne and Nicholas dance around each other denying their feelings towards each other. The Collector is the consummate, but unlikely matchmaker. Once Marianne and Nicholas admitted their feelings towards each other in spite of the odds, the scene was red hot and highly explosive. Thanks go to Ms. Andersen for an entertaining story.
