All Work and No Play
Just as her personal life begins to crumble around her, Jane Miller’s professional life takes off. Still reeling from her feelings of inadequacy from the breakup with her fiancé, Jane meets with the model selected for her big campaign and is immediately attracted to the man. Jane impulsively invites him to dinner…and things really begin to heat up.
Moonlighting as a model to help pay off some family debts, Jonathan “Jonny” Cole can hardly believe it when he learns Jane is the ad exec in charge of the shoot he’s been hired for. Although they knew each other as young children, they lost touch and only reconnected recently over the internet. His childhood crush on Jane renewed by their internet friendship, Jonny can’t wait to see Jane again and is delighted that she seems just as attracted to him. How will he react when he realizes that she doesn’t recognize him or realize that the model, “Jay”, is really her friend Jonny?
Wow! Ms. Cohen is a delight to read. Her characters are realistic and funny and fantastic to get to know. Jane is one big jumble of uncertainty. The one constant she has in her life right now, her childhood friend Jonny, is suddenly taken from her when she realizes who “Jay” is. Only when she and Jonny finally get a chance to really reconnect does Jane understand that All Work and No Play have definitely left their mark on her and now that she’s found someone she could really love, she’s afraid of failure. As for Jonny, can you say dreamy? Smart, sexy and sweet are just a few adjectives that describe him. I really liked that he was so open in his feelings about Jane. The emotions described in both of these characters were what made this story such a good one. Add in an interesting plot with a little bit of a twist in the characters and you’ve got a story I wouldn’t mind reading again and again.
