Outcast: Book Two of the Guardians’ League

Renee Hardin’s life is forever changed in an instant when she is attacked and left for dead by an outcast vampire. Even with the fangs and the need for blood, Renee has difficulty believing in vampires. Strangely the only person who wants to help her is Eli, the vampire she believes attacked her.

Determined to rid the world of Outcasts, vampires who prey on humans to increase their powers, Eli is a powerful loner in the vampire world. When he can’t stop the Outcasts from attacking Renee, he does everything he can to save her, even acting as her Sire. Can he resist the attraction he feels for the smart, sassy new vampire? What will happen if Renee discovers the secrets Eli hides?

Amelia Elias’ Guardians’ League books are fantastic. In Outcast, we once again meet the mysterious and powerful Eli. In his quest to rid the world of the evil vampires, he holds himself apart from that world. Yet Renee’s innocence and zest for life entice him. His feelings and thoughts are conflicted as the sexual tension increases between them. Renee is a strong, courageous woman who must face the prospect of a life she did not ask for as well as the prejudice that accompanies that life. I was completely drawn into their world and didn’t want the story to end. I especially liked learning more of the world Ms. Elias has created and how the vampires came to be. This story is definitely one for the keeper file.
