Finding Sarah

Sarah Tucker is a woman who is determined to make it on her own and save the shop that she and her dead husband opened, no matter what. Sarah’s high school friend, Chris Westmoreland, is all set to come riding to the rescue, but Sarah knows that there will be too many strings attached to this help. Her sister-in-law is trying to force Sarah to sell the shop. To top all of that off, things keep happening at the store. First, she is robbed at gunpoint, then the store is vandalized, and shipments keep being delayed or lost. The detective that’s sent to investigate the robbery touches Sarah in ways that she didn’t think could be touched by any man other than her dead husband.

Detective Randy Detreiler is surprised at how Sarah gets under his professionalism from the minute he meets her. The more he investigates the robbery, the less things make sense. He starts to follow leads from the robbery investigation and decides that someone is trying to put Sarah out of business. Randy has trouble dealing with his emotions and this book shows great growth from him. The other thing he must come to terms with is the fact that he sees Sarah’s dead husband as a rival. He wonders if she has room in her heart for him.

I enjoyed this book. Finding Sarah starts out a little slow but soon picks up, and by the middle of the book I was hooked. I couldn’t wait to see how it would turn out. Terry Odell out did herself; this book, once it gets started, takes off and never slows down again. It was a wild and suspenseful ride, the ending had me riveted, and Terry Odell kept me guessing until the end. I really came to care about these characters. The emotional developments the Sarah and Randy go through are amazing and almost painful to watch.
