All or Nothing

All or Nothing is the last book in Claire Cross’s Coxwell series. It is also the best book by far from this author.

Tormented by the death of his father and the family feuds he’s dealt with most of his life, Zach Coxwell is determined to recover from his past and move on. The first thing he does is meet up with some of his friends from college for lunch. It is during this meeting that he realizes that he is glad he never finished school to become a lawyer. His friends are all people that he is glad he hasn’t become. They all seem to be after one thing; more money, while none seem to truly be happy. When he meets waitress Jen Maitland, Zach can’t help but want to get to know her better.

Jen Maitland has just survived breast cancer but still doesn’t want any long-term projects because she still has the fear of not being around to finish them. Therefore, she is perfectly happy just knitting small things such as fruits or avocados. However when her mom threatens to “fix” her up with a man, she decides to follow her sisters’ plan and ask a rich man with worldly views to Thanksgiving dinner just to get her mom off her back, hoping she will hate the man. When she meets Zach she sees the perfect man with a trust fund to throw her mother off. What she doesn’t count on is Zach being a real down to earth guy with ideals and feelings just like hers.

Zach and Jen are the perfect pair to end this series. One can’t help but feel Jen’s pain and loss the cancer has given her. Readers will automatically empathize with her and want to help in her recovery. Zach was the perfect man to aid in her process. The secondary characters from both sides of their families were perfect, each adding their own bit of spark to this story. All or Nothing is a must read for fans of Romantic Contemporaries. While this book will stand alone, the other books in this series are well worth reading, not to mention readers will grasp a little bit more about the history of Zach and his family. Claire Cross has done a wonderful job with this series. It will become a set of books for your keeper shelves.
