A Garden in the Moonlight
Thom and Hope Sterling are struggling with not being able to conceive a child. They’ve had three years of trying, including tests, specialists at home and abroad, and anything else they can think of. Now, it seems, Thom has a slightly more unorthodox plan in mind now – he wants her to sleep with another man, a coworker of his named Kaine Kingsley, to settle a debt.
Kaine has lusted after the delicious Mrs. Sterling for four long years, ever since they danced together one night at a party. He’s dreamed of possessing her, of her skin, her body…but nothing can quite prepare him for the actuality of having her in his arms. When Hope finds out just what her husband has planned for her, she’s by turns shocked, adamantly against it and then curious…and as her life spins out of control, she learns to really live.
A Garden in Moonlight is a tale about a woman, sheltered by her wealth and her husband, who finally finds herself after an earth-shattering night of intimacy. This is a story of pain, loss, and passion, but, most of all, it is a story of strength and courage. Characters are well drawn and interesting, and the plot premise is wholly original. I enjoyed watching Hope come into her own and attempt to make a life for herself out of the scraps of her former existence. Kaine is a man who wars with his own demons and watching him triumph over his past pain and grief was one of the joys of this tale. Five Angels!
