The Lost Wizard
Bored out of their minds, twins Jenny and Mark are looking for adventure. They decide to explore a house that is supposed to be haunted. In doing so, they find something completely unexpected—and utterly hilarious! A more bumbling, confused, silly magician I’ve never seen than the one the pair finds. Magicus is endearing and the kids like him, despite his ridiculous magical foibles. Before long, other fantastic beings begin to arrive and the twins are caught up in a whirlwind story that is amusing from beginning to end.
I liked this—a lot. The characters are truly fun characters, and I found myself giggling at the silly situations they got into and their resolutions to them. The plot is as gripping as a roller coaster ride and just as much fun, too. I like the fact that this story has an underlying message to it, one that isn’t so hidden that it won’t be deciphered by its target audience. And if the reader misses it during the telling of the story, it is brought out quite plainly at the end. I can easily see myself giving The Lost Wizard to my young nieces and nephews. It is a well written tale and I believe kids will enjoy it. I know I did! This is the first in the wizard series and I am eager to read the next installment in the wizard’s journey! Suzi Goode has penned a fun tale in The Lost Wizard!
