Rednecks 'n' Rock Candy

Sheriff Brad Keister has two loves in life: Little League baseball and being a sheriff protecting people and getting the bad guys. However, all that is gone when someone shoots him during a drug bust, and his cousin Rusty changes him into a vampire to stay alive. Now, weeks later and still regretting the change, he is not sure what to do in his life. One thing for sure is ever since the change he hasn’t felt good as a vampire. He doesn’t feel like a man and doesn’t feel like anybody will ever make him feel alive again…until he meets Mandi O’ Brian, Rusty’s fiancée’s best friend.

Mandi O’ Brian cannot believe her best friend is getting married just months after meeting this guy. Going to the rescue was supposed to be easy, but what she didn’t count on was Sheriff Brad Keister. Here was a man who makes her blood boil in a most unusual way, but she can’t realize just what about him she’s attracted to. Yeah, he’s got a gorgeous body, but in some way he is all a mystery to her. One thing she wonders about is why he only comes at night, and why each time they kiss it feels like she found her soul mate. There are some things a friend shouldn’t know, and Brad is hiding something that might make her hate him. Can she overcome anything to prove to him that it is not just sexual attraction they feel but perhaps something more than lust?

Oh boy! I waited for a sequel and this is it, Judy Mays outdid herself in this book. What I mean is that you not only meet Rusty Nipple again, but his cousin Brad is one piece of man you will come to love. From the start, I felt for this guy; with one gunshot his whole life changes. Though it was a good reason to keep him alive, he doesn’t get accustomed to vampire life and Judy Mays did a great job in showing what he missed most about being a mortal. Mandi is a friend who will do anything to make sure her best friend is doing the right thing. These two characters are so great towards one another, it’s hard to see why they don’t just get it on in the beginning. The scene leading up to it, well, only Judy Mays knows how to make it hot. Rednecks 'n’ Rock Candy not only was a great read but a marvelous sequel to Rednecks ‘n’ Roses. Great job!
