Curses

Mel MacRae is a beautiful woman, a witch, and according to her best friend, desperately needs to get laid. Her plants are wilting and that’s a sure sign that her powers are waning. In order to keep her powers up to where they should be, she needs to do what all of the other women in her family line have done. She needs to get pregnant and that will pass on the gift that she was blessed with. Mel thinks that she doesn’t want to get laid, until she meets her newest tenant Jonas Pierce. There is a family curse and she does not want to be added to it, however, sometimes we don’t always have a choice in what Mother Nature has planned for us.

Jonas can’t believe how perfect the place is that his best friend sent him to for a vacation. It is isolated, in the woods, and has a very nice looking owner. Jonas has a very unusual condition and a tabloid reporter hounding him for information about his “true” identity. He is also J. P. Wolfe, a horror novelist, and he needs to finish a book without the reporter harassments, so this place is the perfect place for him. He is very attracted to Mel, but never dreams that someone will start to stalk her. He immediately decides that he is not going to do anything until he helps Mel to get rid of her problems. Then he’ll have to decide whether he can share all of his secrets with her. At the same time Mel will also have to decide if she will share her secret with him.

This was a great book. It started out with both the hero and the heroine having secrets which was very nice; it made you wonder when they would share the secrets. And then when they threw in the suspense . . . well Curses just went to the top of my list. Mel has a curse to deal with, Jonas has a curse and the stalker made it so that they had to deal with them. If you’re into the paranormal and suspense then I highly recommend this book.
