Goddess of Love

After years of watching life pass her by, Dorothea ‘Pea’ Chamberlain has decided to take matters in hand and rejoin the masses as a doer, not a watcher. A trip to a bookstore brings her the book that she hopes will help her on her mission, “Discover the Goddess Within – Unleash Venus and Open Your Life to Love.” The invocation in the book, as well as a mother intent on her son’s happiness, brings Pea into a reality that most would scoff at.

Venus is not happy. She is restless and just does not know what to do to relieve it. Discovering the delights of the kingdom called Tulsa Oklahoma may be just the thing she needs to rid her of her malaise.

Vulcan has had enough of being looked down on and made to feel an outcast by the gods and goddesses of Olympus. Intent on finding a way to join the heavens as a constellation, he understands that he must find a new guardian of fire. What better place to look than the mortal realm?

Gods, goddesses, mortals, down home truths, and love; these are the characters in this book. There are stories within stories in Goddess of Love. With signature humor and turn of the phrase, P.C. Cast has created a fabulous book that inspired me to tell people, ‘I love Pea!’ The issues that are dealt with in this book are so commonly held that it was fantastic to see unreal characters deal with realistic problems. Griffin and Pea were delightful characters that taught their immortal counterparts that life is so worth living. I am thrilled that I got to read this and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a laugh, a cry, or a sigh.
