This is Book One in the Moon Series by Rose Marie Wolf.

Rose was born a werewolf and loves another werewolf. The life of a werewolf is never easy, but when threatened by a mysterious hunter you do what you have to; Rose did what she had to, she defended herself and in doing so endangers not just herself, but her entire race. Running to Jason, they try to salvage a life from the tatters that this incident has made of their benign existence. Can love survive? Can they?

While the premise was fantastic; a pair of werewolves running from danger together, the actual application wasn’t so well done. Jason and Rose seemed almost caricatures of characters. Rose continually allowed Jason to verbally abuse her and I felt that their reactions to the events in the story were contrived. The hunters that were their adversaries were disjointed and loosely put together, while the head man was scarily intent, the rest of the crew seemed pale imitations. As I said, the plot was a great idea; I just wish that the story could’ve lived up to the blurb. This is Ms. Wolf’s first book and I hope that the remainder of the series shows her growth as a writer.
