Regency Romp Volume 1 contains five stories set in the regency time period.

Rose Among the Heather by Jennifer Mueller

Edward Sinclair, Duke of Cairnmuir has returned home after war. Instead of peace, he finds his mother in the midst of planning a ball. Unfortunately, she decides he might as well find himself a wife as there will be plenty of eligible females around. He meets Rose, a widow and he finds himself entranced by her.

One of the two favorites in this anthology as the characters are fully developed and the author does a fine job of telling their story. Edward is a great hero with the sensitivity most women would want in their own men. Rose is the perfect match for him. The best compliment I could give is that I would still be entertained by the story even if the author did not include any of the erotic actions.

Laudanum by Nikki Watson

Frederick Barrington is at Madam Moon and that is where he finds Selina. Selina aka Juliana Williams has run away from home and ends up as a prostitute at Madam Moon’s. Frederick wants Selina for a weekend. She is to be his only, doing his bidding and following his rules. After some haggling over the cost, Selina goes with him.

There is plenty of erotic action of all kinds within this story, including multiple partners. It overshadows the story as the reader’s attention is centered on all the sex. Juliana elicits lots of sympathy but Frederick was just a so-so hero as his actions weren’t particularly likable.

Of Licorice and Decadence by Katrina Strauss

Klauss von Alstyne has lost his Muse. As a composer, this is extremely detrimental to his career. Nicolette Neville attracts his attention, is she the woman who will be his Muse?

Nicolette and Klauss are a great couple. The author does a great job of telling her story. The eroticism fits the story and doesn’t overwhelm. There is a nice balance between story and sex.

Unspeakable by Kayleigh Jamison

Trevor Caufield meets a mute and mysterious woman. He pursues Emma Hatton to fulfill his physical desires but finds something more fulfilling.

This was a lovely addition to this anthology as Trevor and Emma are a winning couple. The author pulls the reader into her world and doesn’t let go until the last page. This was my other favorite story. Trevor is transformed by love and his actions are definitely hero worthy. Emma is a heroine to treasure.

At the Lady’s Discretion by Emma Wildes

Louisa Drury is the Duke of Hartley’s mistress. She is everything a man could want. Louisa’s marriage was not something she wants to repeat, can the Duke convince her to give it another try?

William and Louisa know what they want and what they don’t want. These are two mature characters that have experienced life. There are quite a few erotic situations which includes a threesome which is not this reader’s cup of tea. However, it is a well-written story with some heated moments between the lead couple.
Regency Romp Volume 1 was a great anthology as most of the stories captured the reader’s interest. There is plenty of sex and more sex with some very charismatic heroes and heroines. For those who enjoy the regency era, this anthology will definitely be a must have!
