Fredricka (Freddie) Bodine goes back to her home town to attend her twentieth class reunion. She is a successful archeologist. Keith Wallace is home for rest and relaxation after he is injured on a mission for the Army. These two bump into each other at the library, and Freddie begins to melt as soon as she sets eyes on him. Twenty years apart has not changed the way her body reacts to him. Keith always thought Freddie was pretty in high school but they moved in different crowds, so the opportunity to explore what could have been was lost. Now they are adults with grown up feelings and desires. Freddie is set to take a trip to Los Diablos, and when Keith finds out, he does everything in his power to persuade her not to go. He has been there during Special Ops and knows of the dangers. Freddie is determined not to let go of her dream to explore the ruins in Los Diablos, and Keith is determined to stop her. Every time they are together, Keith tries to talk her out of her plans. Not only that, there is a simmering attraction between them that grows closer to the boiling point each and every time they see each other. When passion explodes between them, they realize that their feelings are the result of their unfulfilled desire for each other. What will Keith do when he finds out Freddie did not heed his warnings about Los Diablos, and now she is missing? Can the love they find survive the conflict between them, or are they destined to live without each other?

Denise A. Agnew knows how to create a great story and heroes that will curl your toes. Keith is everything a woman hopes to find in a man—tall, sexy and hot. Freddie's personality and determination make her a strong heroine. She does not back away from conflict and meets it head-on. Watching these two come together and fall apart each time they meet keeps the story moving at a fast pace. It kept me turning the pages to read about their next encounter hoping that it would be the one that brings them together in a flood of passion. Unconditional Surrender has everything a reader can hope for—a sexy hero, a strong heroine, conflict, danger and explosive sex. There was also something brewing between two of the secondary characters, Jake Sullivan and Marisa Clyde. I'm hoping to hear their story soon.
