What You Can’t See

What You Can’t See contains three breathtaking stories of a paranormal threat and gripping tension.

This riveting anthology starts with Allison Brennan’s contribution Deliver Us From Evil. Skye McPherson is a tough, smart sheriff with no tolerance for religious philosophy or belief. Anthony Zaccardi, orphaned at an early age and left at a monastery because of his unique gifts, has a totally different perspective. When a mass murder happens in her town Skye must overcome her past history and give Anthony the benefit of the doubt.

I thoroughly enjoyed Deliver Us From Evil, this was the first I have read by Allison Brennan but I can tell you it won’t be my last. Skye and Anthony were both compelling characters, the evil in this novel was frightening and real. The plot flowed and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.

Roxanne St. Claire keeps this anthology moving with another excerpt of the Bullet Catchers (my favorite bodyguards) in Reason to Believe. Chase Ryker, former NASA pilot and man of science, is contracted to protect Arianna Killian. These two clash from the moment they meet. Arianna is psychic and hears dead people talking. Her talent is turned into a syndicated television show and the trouble begins.

Bullet Catchers all yummy alphas, my Christmas wish list in one. Roxanne St. Claire, has another hit, and I am so glad she hasn’t slowed down. Chase was everything I expect from these bodyguards and Arianna was all woman with a little something extra. The villain was unexpected in this twisted thriller. A Reason to Believe will make you question what is out there.

Redemption rounds out these stories with a life after death scenario. Wow, what a plot, Karin Tabke really has a chilling imagination. Zach Garrett has some tough choices to make, and while there may seem “no question” about what to do, you better think again. Danica Keller was devastatingly betrayed by Zach, this betrayal affected her everyday life, job and heart. Danica has moved on with her life, working as head of security for a museum she has put her best foot forward, If she has regrets it’s only in the silence of her heart. Zach has suffered for his betrayal of Danica and also for many other transgressions of the past. He must choose the right path now to protect Danica and to protect humanity.

Karen Tabke has a fresh take on life after death, and the choices we make before and possibly after. Redemption finished off this anthology with a bang. Zach is a fractured soul beautifully written and Danica’s heart ache and loss penned with perfection, I am new to Karen Tabke but I won’t be a stranger anymore.

What You Can’t See was one of the best anthology’s I have read to date. These authors, Alison Brennan, Roxanne St. Claire and Karin Tabke have taken the title and run with it. I think they came in first place. Each story was well thought out and complete, you know what you need to know, there were no dangling threads to worry about. The suspense was strong, the evil villain’s a surprise and the endings ideal.
