Janus is a vampire Lieutenant for the Master vampire Strickland. Unlike other Lieutenants, he’s had it good. His master is indulgent, and as long as he follows the general responsibilities of his position, he can live his own life. All that changes when he finds Lyall.

Lyall, a young vampire who was changed and left to die. Because of the circumstances of his violent change, he has few memories of his life before. But he does know that trust is a rare commodity, and he doesn’t have a lot to share.

Castoffs is a homoerotic vampire love story. It contains very strong scenes of violence and BDSM. That being said, it was HOT! It is very well written, with strong three-dimensional characters. The plot was engaging and had enough action and mystery to please just about everyone. Although Lyall was the obviously troubled character, it just made the troubles that Janus hides behind his stoic façade that much more profound. Love, Betrayal, Strong, Sexy Vampires, I give this book a high five!
