As the CEO of Anamer Gas Mining and Refinery Corporation, Anis Anamer runs a space station (called The Company) near the mining planet Poseidon VII. In her position of authority, she is responsible for the lives of the ten million employees and their families who lived on the station. Suddenly she and her Company are in danger, both from an internal takeover attempt, and from the Separatist space force, known for its vicious methods of subduing populations during previous conquests. Rather than give up, Anis takes off into the hidden spaces of the Company, with only her bodyguard, Simon Delamer. But Simon is not what he seems, and he and Anis must overcome both their external and interpersonal conflicts to be successful in saving the station and its inhabitants.

This is the second book in the futuristic PIACT Undercover Agent Series, which began with Cyberius III. I really liked Cyberius III, because it was such an unusual story. I enjoyed Poseidon VII as well, though as the second in the series, it was not quite as surprising as the first. The plot is complex and very fast paced, giving the story a bit of a breathless feeling as the action just keeps on coming! I really liked the very realistic characters of Anis and Simon, as well as the well-rounded secondary characters that fill the pages of this book. The story is more adventure SF than romance, but the romantic elements are very strong and integrated within the story. The few love scenes are more intellectual than physical (although there are a couple of fairly hot love scenes in the mix). My compliments to the author on an excellent sequel that will keep fans of science fiction romance interested from beginning to end!
