Alana Blues

Matt Jensen’s mother was a medium able to talk to the dead and his father was a ghost. Not exactly what a sixteen year old wanted to know and to find out, so he left home and has made his own way in the world ever since. Right after leaving home he met his best friend Cain Morris and they went into business together; it seems that both men can capture and compel spirits to leave a person alone. Then his whole life changed the day he met a raven haired beauty named Alana Alvarez. He immediately knew that there was something different about her, something drew him to her and he took things slow and had only kissed her one time. They had only been together a month when he woke up and realized that he loved her, and he intended to tell her that night at their date. Only a gunman never allowed the date to happen. Matt and Alana were standing in front of Alana’s car for her to go home when she suddenly stepped in front of him and a bullet slammed into her back and she was instantly killed. But why has Matt been having these strange dreams lately where she is talking to him and trying to contact him? And why does Cain not believe him when he hears these things? This Halloween could turn into one of the weirdest ones that Matt has ever experienced.

Alana has so many things that she needs to tell Matt, but it’s hard to do because he didn’t believe the things that his mother told him about her being a medium. He just needs to open himself up to the fact that she is a ghost and listen to her and Halloween will be so much easier. She needs to tell her who did this to her and to avoid certain people and they can be together one again. If he refuses to listen to her, then he will be joining her in the death realm, and the deal that she made in order to be able to contact him will have been made in vain.

I loved this story and the reason is that it was so very different from anything I’ve ever read before. I like the fact that it’s a contemporary story and the paranormal ghost story thrown in just makes it perfect. And the fact that it’s a ghost story on Halloween, well it doesn’t’ get better than that. The story is hot, but I really liked the fact that Matt wasn’t a love and leave kind of guy. He fell in love and Ms. Sfetsos made us feel what he was feeling as he missed Alana and dealt with the dreams that he was having. There are a lot of surprises in this story so be prepared for those as you read. I hope you enjoy the story as much as I did.
